TRIBUTE LOFTS

480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave,
Atlanta, GA 30312
BUILDING DETAILS
Tribute Lofts LG2.jpg

Tribute Lofts building is located at the corner of Boulevard and Freedom Parkway. This location provides an easy access to the Interstate, but on the other hand suffers from traffic and noise coming from the above mentioned city arteries. Overall, building is conveniently located and is close to Midtown, Downtown, Inman Park, Virginia-Highlands and other popular neighborhoods. However, it is not as attractive or walkable as those.

But what Tribute Lofts lacks in location, it makes up in the architectural appeal. The building could be considered a Bauhaus-style loft with clean and simple design. Tribute Lofts features an all-concrete construction, where not only floors and ceilings are made of poured concrete but also the walls separating the units. Such feature is rarely seen in other buildings and definitely adds to esthetics of each unit.

Amenity package is also very attractive. There is a bright multi-level lobby, Zen garden and sky lounge. Sky lounge is located on the roof of the West-facing building and offers an unobstructed, postcard-like panorama of Atlanta’s skyline. Here you will find fitness center and clubroom. Outside you will find a rooftop swimming pool, which is not very large, but still usable during hot summer days. The only design element we are not thrilled about are the open hallways. And while they do help with keeping HOA dues low due to lower cost of maintenance, they also create a bit a “motel ambiance”.

Majority of the units have what could be considered a “shotgun” floorplan. As you enter, you will face a long hallway leading to the living room, while bedroom(s), bathroom, laundry room, kitchen are all situated on one side of the hallway. The exception are some larger two-bedroom units located in the corners of the building. As we already mentioned, the ceilings, floors and side walls are all made out of concrete. In combination with 10-foot ceiling height and large floor to ceiling windows these spaces have an attractive contemporary loft feel. Finishes are still up to date with nice cabinetry and modern bathroom fixtures.

When it comes to pricing and value we have mixed feeling about Tribute Lofts. Prices of the units are very similar to modern “all glass” high-rises you can find in Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead areas. Therefore, if you are looking specifically for a unique product from architectural standpoint, then Tribute Lofts can be one of the few options available on the market. However, if you are flexible in terms of design, you might be able to find a comparable unit for the same amount of money in a better location.

Top 3 things we LOVE about this building:

1. Architecturally attractive Bauhaus-style loft building.
2. Available two-story live/work units with street front retail.
3. All concrete construction including sidewalls.

Top 3 things we HATE about this building:

1. North and west side of the building are exposed to the very busy Freedom Parkway.
2. Exposed hallways add a bit of a cheap motel feel.
3. At current price levels Tribute Lofts is competing with some modern high-rises is a better location.
