BUILDING DETAILS

What is Studioplex? Studioplex is a two-level authentic loft complex with live-work zoning for all its units. There are two main advantages to Studioplex; abovementioned live-work zoning and location. Zoning can be useful to someone who intends to live and conduct business out of their residence. Location is very trendy and popular with young progressive crowds. In the neighborhood you will find tons of hip restaurants and bars. And the best part is, you should be able to walk to most of them. Proximity to Krog Street Market and Beltline adds to the attractiveness of the location.
Units can be divided into two categories; lower level units and upper level units. Lower level units are darker and in our opinion are best suitable for commercial use. Some of them have small patios. Upper floor units have skylights and more natural light. Some also have balconies. Those units appear more suitable for residential use. Most floorplans are just one open square or rectangular space, which can be divided to create one or two bedrooms. Most units are around 1,000 square feet which is not much when comparing to other authentic loft spaces. But there is an abundance of exposed brick and concrete so you unmistakably feel you are in a historic converted structure. Most kitchens and bathrooms where updated by the developer in 2000’s. Cabinetry and appliances are acceptable, but nothing to be excited about.
Amenities are almost non-existent and consist of a small rooftop, clubroom and a gym. This, on the other hand, contributes to low monthly HOA dues.
The biggest issue we currently see with Studioplex is pricing. It is high!!! Yes, it is a unique complex with live-work zoning. And yes, you are in a trendy and hip neighborhood. But price per square foot is on the same level (or higher) as price per square foot for many luxury buildings located in more prime locations. But then again, maybe we are just not trendy enough to understand ))

Top 3 things we LOVE about this building:
1. Trendy Inman Park location next to Beltline and Krog Street Market
2. Live-work zoning for all the units in the complex.
3. Unique loft spaces and the community feel of this project.

Top 3 things we HATE about this building:
1. Even so unique, the lofts at Studioplex are not the most interesting from architectural standpoint.
2. A lot of units are fairly small and dark, which is unusual by authentic loft standard.
3. Current price levels can be only justified by a true authentic loft enthusiast or someone in need of a live-work zoning.
