BUILDING DETAILS
What can we say about Stacks Lofts? Well, for starters, it's the reincarnation of a 100-year-old Cotton Mill, making Stacks Lofts quite the unique project. Honestly, there's nothing quite like it in Atlanta when you're talking size and architectural design. If you've got a thing for true authentic lofts, Stacks might just be your cup of tea.
Discussing the design of the units is a bit tricky. Why? This behemoth complex boasts 7 different buildings, and each of them offers a dizzying array of floorplans. Yet, in a good number of these units, you can expect to find features like 18-foot beamed ceilings, windows that seem to stretch on forever, twisty spiral staircases leading up to mezzanine levels, and an abundance of exposed brick and concrete. Many of these lofts have been given a bit of a facelift, either by the developer or previous owners, so modern kitchens with granite countertops and shiny stainless-steel appliances are par for the course. Oh, and while you're wandering the hallways? Look out for bits of original machinery and vintage snapshots of the building. They lend a certain... atmosphere to the place.
Unlike some other loft buildings you might stumble upon, Stacks pulls its weight in the amenities department. We're talking gated, secured access, a fitness center, and even a swimming pool that's cozily nestled amidst remnants of the old industrial structure.
Now, on to location. It's pretty much what you'd expect for an authentic loft building. Some folks will be all over it, while others might raise an eyebrow or two. You're a stone's throw from Downtown and Midtown and hopping on the interstate isn't a massive chore. But, let's be honest here, it's not quite the pedestrian haven that Midtown is. And the fact that you're neighboring a massive intermodal container terminal? That might be a turn-off for some. Then again, if you're a die-hard loft enthusiast, this sort of location might just add to the overall vibe.
Lastly, we need to talk about pricing. Right now, the cost per square foot at Stacks is on the higher side. To put it bluntly, you could probably snag another loft or a sleek condo in a posher location for the same price. But here's the kicker: if you're head over heels for authentic lofts, finding something quite like Stacks elsewhere might be a tall order. So, if it calls to you, be ready to pony up the cash.
Top 3 things we LOVE about this building:
1. Large authentic loft spaces with high ceiling and huge windows.
2. Variety of different floorplans and uniqueness of industrial spaces.
3. Good parking situation and good amenity package for a 100+ year old building.
Top 3 things we DON'T LIKE as much:
1. This project consists of 7 quite large buildings with large number of residences.
2. Location is popular, but complex is neighboring a huge railroad terminal.
3. Current price levels can be only justified by a true authentic loft enthusiast.
