You may like M West or you may hate M West, but no matter what you think about it – it is a unique project. What is so unique about it? Well it was the first of its kind project which combined an intown location, contemporary loft-style design townhomes, a neighborhood feel and somewhat affordable pricing. Let’s see what makes it different.  

Location. First phase of this development has an entrance off Marietta Boulevard. Due to large number of industrial buildings alongside this road area does feel quite industrial. And once you venture out of the gate, you are unlikely to have a great desire to take a walk. On the other hand, by car, you can easily reach both Midtown and Buckhead within a few minutes. Inside the gate you will feel like you are in a little residential oasis with narrow streets, grassy areas and community clubhouse. And speaking of amenities, in M West you will find above-mentioned clubhouse, fitness center and reasonably sized swimming pool. Such amenity package may be common for a high-rise building, but it’s less common for a townhome community in the city.

The units are two and three story townhomes each with a private garage. Exterior design is a little bit funky and resembles modern Scandinavian architecture. A lot of people are not used to purple or lime green exteriors, but in our opinion, it goes well with the overall community ambiance. Floorplans, interior design and finished will vary a lot from one unit to another. But as you can see from the pictures, the spaces are very contemporary with large two-story windows, industrial staircases and mezzanine lofts. Assuming the unit hasn’t been updated by a previous owner, original finishes may start showing signs of aging. Pay attention to the pine flooring in the first phase of this development. If not properly cared for, it can easily get damaged. However, with proper care these floors look amazing. Another cool feature of the units is private backyard. Some are larger than the others but having your own patch of grass in the middle of the city is always really cool.

At the current price levels M West is not cheap. However, if you would rather live in a contemporary townhouse with the back yard than in a condominium, then M West may not look as expensive and offer you an alternative lifestyle in the city.
