Deer Lofts is another authentic loft building located Downtown, or to be more specific, in the Castleberry Hill. Castleberry Hill is an area many people either love or hate. Some people love to visit this neighborhood but would not live here. Others would not live anywhere else. As we mentioned in our other reviews, Castleberry Hill is Atlanta’s loft district with a vibrant and artistic atmosphere. Regular art strolls and loft tours bring in visitors from all over the city and also contribute to the ambiance of the neighborhood. Deer Lofts is a short walk away from the Georgia World Congress Center, the CNN Center and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But be prepared, on weekends and during events this area gets very busy and quite noisy.

Deer Lofts, from architectural standpoint, is an attractive authentic loft building. There are many different and unique floorplans. All of them possess typical features expected in an authentic loft such as high ceilings, concrete floors, exposed brick and original factory windows. Finishes for kitchens and bathrooms are fairly outdated. But on the bright side, you will not feel bad about removing them and creating a blank canvas for your future designer loft. One more thing worth mentioning is that Deer Lofts borders an active rail road track. Therefore, if a unit located on that side of the building (especially on a lower floor) you may get to see trains passing right in front of your window and potentially create some disturbances in terms of noise.

There is not much in terms of the amenities: there is a gym, rooftop deck and parking garage. But lack of amenities is typical for authentic lofts, since they were not initially designed as residential dwellings. If you are looking for more amenities and would like to stay in Castleberry Hill you may want to consider Castleberry Point located right across the street from Deer Lofts. However, if authentic loft is what you are after, then Deer Lofts is one of the most interesting buildings in the area.
