BUILDING DETAILS

Castleberry Point Lofts is one of the newer projects constructed within Castleberry Hill Loft district. Construction was finished right in the beginning of the real estate crisis of 2008 and the developer had to discount the units heavily in order to sell them. Current price levels are reaching and sometimes exceeding those initially intended by developer. However, prices for some units are almost as high as units located in Midtown and Buckhead.
But when it comes to location, Castleberry Hill is an area many people either love or hate. Some people love to visit this neighborhood but would not live here. Others would not live anywhere else. As we mentioned in our other reviews, Castleberry Hill is Atlanta’s loft district with a vibrant and artistic atmosphere. Regular art strolls and loft tours bring in visitors from all over the city and also contribute to the ambiance of the neighborhood. Castleberry Point is a stone throw away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. On the weekends and during events this area gets very busy and noisy.
Amenities are probably some of the best in the neighborhood. They may not be as posh as those of luxury high-rises in Midtown and Buckhead, but they are still very attractive. At Castleberry Point you will find a fitness center and swimming pool located on the roof of the building and offering spectacular views of Atlanta’s skyline. There is also a nice courtyard with a fountain. Lower HOA dues also contribute to the appeal of this building.
But what do we think about the units? Well, that depends. Since building is not too old, finishes of the units are mostly up to date and remain fairly attractive. There are many different floor plans. We could divide them into 3 categories. First one, are just regular flats. They are well laid out, practical, but usually boring. Second category are “loft” units. Those are two-story mezzanine units and two-story units with private roof-tops. Both are interesting and more exciting, but not always practical. Third category is “live-work” spaces. Those units consist of a storefront retail space located on the ground floor and living areas located above the retail. Live-work zoning allows you to both conduct business, and live on premises, which makes this category very popular.
Should you buy in Castleberry Point? In our opinion, if you find that unique space (like a live-work or a large rooftop unit) you should definitely consider it. Otherwise, we would recommend to look at alternatives.
